Scaling your Rubyists: Dynamic Staffing for a Dynamic Language

Please join us for a conversation with representatives from some of the leading Ruby service shops in San Francisco as they relate their experiences of hiring and retaining experienced Ruby developers. The panel of four (Tom Mornini of EngineYard, Rob Mee of Pivotal Labs, Christian Nelson of Carbon Five, and Tim Connor of Cloud City Development) will share their trials and triumphs, and reveal the secrets they've learned about hiring quality engineers in a niche where demand so vastly outstrips supply.

Come prepared to share your own experiences, questions, advice and stories at the end of the panel discussion.

This presentation is aimed primarily at company owners, team leads, and hiring managers, not at recruiters. Much of the content applies specifically to the culture and internal process of the development teams themselves and would be of much less help to recruiters. As space is limited, please leave room for the intended audience.

The panel will run from 6:30 to roughly 8:30, followed by a period of socializing to allow audience members the chance to mingle and ask the panelists questions one on one. The event is co-organized by Cloud City Development and hosted in EngineYard's swanky new penthouse overlooking the city. Light snacks and beverages will be provided, and some intrepid souls will likely wander SoMa for drinks afterward .

This event will be videoed and posted to the web.

The event is definitely packed with quite a waiting list, so if you aren't going to be able to make it, please change your RSVP to make room.

    Thanks,
    Tim
